Minutes of Paris Township Trustees

November 4, 2019

President James Kiko called the meeting to order at 7:00PM at the
township hall with Trustees Timothy Blocher & Michael Stewart
present.
Approval of Minutes
Mr. Stewart moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of
the last meeting & approve as submitted. Seconded by Mr. Blocher.
Approved. Financial reports approved as printed.
Fire Chief
SCJFD Fire Chief Stoller reported that the fire district has been
very busy in November. He is hopeful that the fire district levy
will pass.
Road Report
Road Superintendent Todd Kirkpatrick reported mowing along roads
continues. The dump trucks are ready for snow plowing. A culvert
will be replaced on Pleasant Valley St. There will be one more
mowing for cemeteries. Mike’s Tree Service gave prices for cutting
trees along roads. Whitacre Ave. south of S.R. 172 to Freed St.
cost $4,000.00. Whitacre Ave. from Freed St. to Crowl St.
$5,000.00. Dead trees along Freed St. between Baird Ave. and Paris
Ave. $1,500.00.
Tree Cutting Resolution 37-19
Mr. Kiko moved to approve Mike’s Tree Service to cut trees from
Whitacre Ave. south of S.R. 172 to Freed St. for $4,000.00 and dead
trees along Freed St. between Baird Ave. and Paris Ave. for
$1,500.00. Seconded by Mr. Blocher. Upon A vote, Mr. Stewart –
Aye, Mr. Blocher – Aye, Mr. Kiko – aye. Approved.
Refuse Contract Resolution 38-19
Mr. Kiko moved to approve the contract with Lucky Trucking LLC at a
cost of $550.00 per roll off box staring January 1, 2020. Seconded
by Mr. Stewart. Upon A vote, Mr. Stewart – Aye, Mr. Blocher – Aye,
Mr. Kiko – aye. Approved.
Nuisance properties
Mr. Blocher said the Stark County Health Department has ordered the
persons scrapping out of mobile homes along Robertsville Ave. to
clean up the area. Concerning the property on Telpahak St. the
health department is contacting the bank that holds the mortgage.
Grant
Mr. Blocher reported the grant for Whitacre Ave. erosion has a
score of 34 so the township may receive some grant money.
Street Lights
Mr. Stewart reported street light outages to the electric
companies.
Road Levy Resolution 39-19
Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Blocher to approve asking
the Stark County Auditor how much a new two and three mill road
levy would bring in. Upon a vote, Mr. Stewart – Aye, Mr. Kiko –
Aye, Mr. Blocher – Aye. Approved.
No further business, Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr.
Blocher to adjourn and pay bills totally $27,965.82. Approved.
