Minutes of Paris Township Trustees

August 7, 2017

President Reginald Stoltzfus called the meeting to order at 7:00PM at the township hall with Trustees James Kiko and Michael Stewart present.

 

Approval of Minutes

Mr. Kiko moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the last meeting & approve as submitted.  Seconded by Mr. Stewart.  Approved.  Financial reports approved as printed.

 

2018 Budget – Resolution 43-17

Mr. Kiko moved to approve the 2018 Budget in the amount of $962,904.00.  Seconded by Mr. Stewart.  Upon A vote, Mr. Stewart – Aye, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – aye.  Approved.

 

Trees on Ridgeport

Jeff Shafer said the pine trees need trimmed along Ridgeport Ave.

 

Additional Road Levy

Tim Bloucher said the new road levy was well worded & understood.

 

Road Report

Road Superintendent Todd Kirkpatrick reported that chipping & sealing was underway.  Trustees said to not spread more asphalt this year.  Mowing and ditching of roads is to continue.  Widening of Paris Ave. in still needed.  Mr. Kiko said Freed St. needs some ditching at places.  Mr. Stoltzfus said Surrey Dr. & Baird Ave. need drainage issues fixed soon. Mr. Stoltzfus will meet with engineer concerning Liberty St. bridge replacement.  Mr. Kiko said engineers will be looking into bridge on Freed St.  Mr. Stewart said he is waiting in easement from prosecutor’s office for dry hydrant in Robertsville.  Mr. Stoltzfus reported that ODOT opened culvert on S.R. 183 north of New Franklin.  He also said that the PUCO is giving grants for tree trimming around railroad tracks.

 

Tractor Grant Resolution 44-17

Mr. Stewart made a motion, seconded by Mr. Kiko to purchase a tractor and mower not to exceed $75,000.00.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye. Approved.

 

Tractor Grant Resolution 45-17

Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stewart to approve the USDA Grant for the new tractor and mower at 35%.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye. Approved.

 

 

 

 

No further business, Mr. Stewart made a motion, seconded by Mr. Kiko to adjourn and pay bills totally $54,419.08.  Approved.  Meeting adjourned.
