Minutes of Paris Township Trustees

February 19, 2018

President Reginald Stoltzfus called the meeting to order at 7:00PM at the township hall with Trustees James Kiko & Michael Stewart present.

 

Approval of Minutes

Mr. Kiko moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the last meeting and the October 2, 2017 Amended minutes & approve as submitted.  Seconded by Mr. Stewart.  Approved.  Financial reports approved as printed.

 

Road Report

Road Superintendent Todd Kirkpatrick presented information on a grant from the EPA.  Mr. Kiko will look into the grant.  Mr. Kirkpatrick is receiving bids from Durley and T & M Excavating to replace large culverts.  The propane tank has been change over to Powers Oil & Propane.  The 2001 one-ton truck brakes have broken.  He reported that Central Allied may be producing asphalt soon for patching.  The road crew has been mowing back along roads. The joystick control on the new tractor is to be replaced.  Mr. Stewart and Mr. Kirkpatrick will be reviewing drainage issues in the coming week.

 

Nuisance Property.

Mr. Lucas said he will contact the health department again concerning the property on Telpahak St.

 

Street Cleaning Resolution 19-18

Mr. Kiko moved to contract with Reilly Sweeping to clean intersections of grit.  Seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye. Approved

 

Tree Trimming Resolution 20-18

Mr. Kiko moved to contract with Mikes Tree Service at a cost of $5,200.00 to trim along Telpahak St.  Seconded by Mr. Stewart.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye. Approved

 

Light Repairs Resolution 21-18

Mr. Kiko moved to contract with Pauli Electric at a cost not to exceed $3,000.00.  Seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye. Approved

 

Various township business

Mr. Kiko gave an update on the yard waste program from the solid waste district.  Mr. Stoltzfus reported that St. Luke’s is waiting on a grant to add on to the facility.  The New Franklin drainage issue was discussed.  Mr. Kirkpatrick is to get some elevation reading in the area.  Mr. Stoltzfus needs the cost per street light in New Franklin if residents of Shady Lane want to add lights.  Mr. Stewart said limbs need cleaned up on Crowl St.  Mr. Stoltzfus said the drainage issue on Telpahak St. needs addressed also.

 

No further business, Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stewart to adjourn and pay bills totally $12,136.56.  Approved.
