Minutes of Paris Township Trustees

January 18, 2016

President Michael Stewart called the meeting to order at 7:00PM at the township hall with Trustees James Kiko & Reginald Stoltzfus present.

Approval of Minutes
Mr. Kiko moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the last meeting & approve as submitted. Seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus. Approved. Financial reports approved as printed.

Executive session
Mr. Stewart made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus, to go into executive session at 7:01pm to discuss personnel issues. Upon a vote, Mr. Kiko – Aye, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye. Approved.

Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus, to come out of executive session at 7:04pm. Upon a vote, Mr. Kiko – Aye, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye. Approved.

Road Report
Mr. Stowe reported that snow plowing continues. The 1999 dump truck has had the fuel tank replaced & a plow has been repaired. There were two funerals since the last meeting.

Law Seminars
Mr. Stewart & Mr. Stoltzfus will attend a seminar by the Stark County Government Law Seminar in Canton.

Lodging Trucks
Mr. Stoltzfus reported seeing a lodging truck that appeared to be over the weight limit on Whitacre Ave. last week. Mr. Kiko will research the O.R.C. whether the township can require the lodging trucks to purchase road bonds.

Repairs
Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus, to require the road superintendent to get three estimates for repairs over $1,000.00 & at least one trustee’s approval. Upon a vote, Mr. Kiko – Aye, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye. Approved.

Cleanup Day
The Paris Township cleanup day will be in April with the final date to be announced later.

Yard Waste Station
Mr. Stoltzfus will look into getting the yard waste drop off in Paris Township operating again.

Township Website
Mr. Stoltzfus suggested the township start a website for the township. The cost would be $600.00 for website setup & $15.00 per month fee. He said various information could be placed on the website for residents to have questions answered.

Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stewart, to approve the implementation of a township website at a cost not to exceed $800.00 per year. Upon a vote, Mr. Kiko – Aye, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye. Approved.

No further business, Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus to adjourn and pay bills totally $7,982.71. Approved. Meeting adjourned.
