Minutes of Paris Township Trustees

July 18, 2016

President Michael Stewart called the meeting to order at 7:00PM at the township hall with Trustees James Kiko & Reginald Stoltzfus present.

 

Approval of Minutes

Mr. Kiko moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the last meeting & approve as submitted.  Seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus.  Approved.  Financial reports approved as printed.

 

Parks Ave. Project

Osnaburg Township Trustee Richard Pero discussed the Parks Ave. project.  Paris & Osnaburg Townships will work together to prep Parks Ave. for the chip & sealing.

 

7th Congressional District

Dan Phillips said he is running for the 7th Congressional District of the U.S. House of Representatives.  He spoke about his life experiences & work he has accomplished.  He started a non-profit to help the poor & those being released from jail.

 

Hiring New Road Superintendent Resolution 36-16

Mr. Stewart made a motion, seconded by Mr. Kiko, to approve the hiring of Michael Bondoni as Road Superintendent & Cemetery Sexton starting Aug. 15, 2016 at $18.25 per hour & $300.00 per month as sexton.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye. Approved.

 

Vacating Alley in New Franklin Resolution 37-16

Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus, to approve the vacating of the alley in the Northeast side of New Franklin.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye. Approved.

 

Road Maintenance

Mr. Stoltzfus asked if Warren Road was scheduled to be chip & sealed.  Mr. Kiko said it is still on the list to be chip & sealed.  Mr. Stoltzfus also reported that trees need to be trimmed back along the township roads.

 

Freed St. Bridge

Mr. Stewart reported that the Freed St. bridge replacement will not be completed until Sept. 8th.

 

Liberty Church St.

Mr. Stewart said he talk to Brown Township Trustees concerning an agreement with Brown Township about the maintenance of Liberty Church St. which borders both townships.  Mr. Stewart said the trustees will sign such an agreement.

 

Septic Grant

Mr. Stewart said a septic grant was approved for a township resident.

 

Water in ditch

Mr. Stewart said there is water sitting in a ditch along Freed St. that needs addressed.

 

No further business, Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus to adjourn and pay bills totally $2,578.92.  Approved.  Meeting adjourned.
