Minutes of Paris Township Trustees

June 5, 2017

President Reginald Stoltzfus called the meeting to order at 6:00PM at the township hall with Trustee James Kiko present.

 

Executive Session

Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus, to go into executive session to discuss personnel at 6:00pm.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye. Approved.

 

Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus, to come out of executive session at 6:35pm.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye. Approved.

 

Hiring Resolution 34-17

Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus, to hire Gregory Hein on a 30 day probationary period starting June 12, 2017 at $14.00 per hour.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye. Approved.

 

Approval of Minutes

Mr. Kiko moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the last meeting & approve as submitted.  Seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus.  Approved.  Financial reports approved as printed.

 

Road Report

Road employee Clark Neikirk reported mowing along roads. The last foundation is in also.

 

Liberty Cemetery Appraisal Resolution 35-17

The appraisal from Eastern Ohio Appraisal Service Inc. is complete for the Liberty Cemetery expansion at $19,000.00.

 

Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus, to approve the appraisal of $19,000.00 for the purchase of additional land for Liberty Cemetery.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye. Approved.

 

Independent Energy Consultants Resolution 36-17

Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus, to contract with Independent Energy Consultants to bid out Paris Township’s electric aggregation.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye. Approved.

 

Junk Vehicles on Route 30

Trustees discussed how to handle the junk vehicle issues in the township.

 

No further business, Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stoltzfus to adjourn and pay bills totally $32,400.47.  Approved.  Meeting adjourned.
