Minutes of Paris Township Trustees

March 4, 2019

President James Kiko called the meeting to order at 7:00PM at the
township hall with Trustees Timothy Blocher & Michael Stewart
present.

Approval of Minutes
Mr. Stewart moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of
the last meeting & approve as submitted. Seconded by Mr. Blocher.
Approved. Financial reports approved as printed.

Refuse Hauler
JT Williams from Lucky Trucking said he can keep the cost of
hauling refuse down if the township does not damage boxes. The
trustees will monitor the boxes more carefully. Providing new
boxes is not an option at this time he said.

Commissioner Bill Smith
Mr. Smith reported that grants are available for businesses later
in March. The money comes from the state. Checkout the county
website for details.

New Franklin & Paris Alleys
Mr. Rick Jedel asked about the vacating of alleys. Mr. Kiko said
nothing is being done at this time.
Road Report
Road Superintendent Todd Kirkpatrick reported patching continues
and mowing also. The landslide on Parks Ave. continues to move
towards the road.

Website
Mr. Blocher said the control of the website has been changed over
to him. More policies will be posted on the township website as
well as job openings.

Employee Resignation Resolution 19-19
Mr. Stewart made a motion, seconded by Mr. Blocher to accept the
resignation of road employee Joe Toporcer. Upon a vote, Mr. Stewart
– Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye, Mr. Blocher – Aye. Approved.

Executive Session
Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Blocher, to go into
executive session to discuss employment 8:00pm. Upon a vote, Mr.
Blocher – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye. Mr. Kiko – Aye. Approved.

Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Blocher, to come out of
executive session at 8:18pm. Upon a vote, Mr. Blocher – Aye, Mr.
Stewart – Aye. Mr. Kiko – Aye. Approved.

Advertising for Road Employee Resolution 20-19
Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Blocher, to advertise in
the Farm & Dairy, Alliance Review & the News Leader for a road
employee position with at least a Class B CDL starting at $15.50
per hour wage and a cemetery mower at $11.00 per hour. Upon a
vote, Mr. Blocher – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye. Mr. Kiko – Aye.
Approved.

No further business, Mr. Stewart made a motion, seconded by Mr.
Blocher to adjourn and pay bills totally $30,269.65. Approved.
