Minutes of Paris Township Trustees

October 16, 2017

President Reginald Stoltzfus called the meeting to order at 7:00PM at the township hall with Trustees James Kiko and Michael Stewart present.

 

Approval of Minutes

Mr. Kiko moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the last meeting & approve as submitted.  Seconded by Mr. Stewart.  Approved.  Financial reports approved as printed.

 

Telpahak St.

Mr. Lucas asked about the nuisance property on Telpahak St.  Mr. Stewart said the county health department is working on the issue.

 

Road Report

Road Superintendent Todd Kirkpatrick reported that cemetery foundations are poured.  He is waiting on a price for cutting trees along roads.  He installed recommended speed limit signs.  Driveway culverts are being replaced by residents who ask for culvert replacement.  Mr. Kirkpatrick estimates the cost of extending Calway Ave. at $5,000.00.  The trustees want to notify residents that street signs are being stolen and should report missing signs to the township office at 330-862-3575.  Mr. Kiko reported that Glenn Whiteleather, West Twp. Trustee, has agreed that Paris Twp. will plow snow for all of Coledale & West Twp. will plow snow for all of Millercrest.

 

Purchase of Salt Spreader – Resolution 50-17

Mr. Kiko moved to approve the purchase of a salt spreader at a cost not to exceed $5,000.00.  Seconded by Mr. Stewart.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye.  Approved.

 

Purchase of computer – Resolution 51-17

Mr. Stewart moved to approve the purchase of a computer.  Seconded by Mr. Stewart.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye.  Approved.

 

Tax Rates Resolution 52-17

Mr. Kiko moved to accept the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the county auditor.  Seconded by Mr. Stewart.  Upon A vote, Mr. Stewart – Aye, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – aye.  Approved.

 

Supplemental Appropriation – Resolution 53-17

Mr. Stewart moved to approve the supplemental appropriation in the amount of $1,070,399.75.  Seconded by Mr. Kiko.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye.  Approved.

 

No further business, Mr. Kiko made a motion, seconded by Mr. Stewart to adjourn and pay bills totally $78,765.79.  Approved.
