Minutes of Paris Township Trustees

October 2, 2017

President Reginald Stoltzfus called the meeting to order at 7:00PM at the township hall with Trustees James Kiko and Michael Stewart present.

 

Approval of Minutes

Mr. Stewart moved to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the last meeting & approve as submitted.  Seconded by Mr. Kiko.  Approved.  Financial reports approved as printed.

 

Calway Ave.

Dave Ramsey said he would like a dead end sign at the end of Calway Ave.  He said the road is being torn up by farm equipment.  Trustees are going to see what can be done to fix the problem.

 

Road Report

Road Superintendent Todd Kirkpatrick reported that Surrey Dr. is completed concerning the drainage issue as well as the Baird Ave. ditch also. The new one-ton truck needs the lights fixed.  Patching will start soon.  More trees need cut along roads he reported.  Culverts under oil well drives and home drives are in need of replacement.

 

Dry Hydrant Easement

Mr. Stewart reported that the easement for the Robertsville dry hydrant is approved by the owner of the property and surveying is to be done soon.

 

New Franklin Property

Mr. Stewart said he cut weeds around an overgrown property in New Franklin.

 

Accepting offer for Liberty Cemetery Land – Resolution 49-17

Mr. Kiko moved to approve the purchase of the land for Liberty Cemetery from Bruce Goebler at a cost of $25,000.00.  Seconded by Mr. Stewart.  Upon a vote, Mr. Stoltzfus – Aye, Mr. Kiko – Aye, Mr. Stewart – Aye.  Approved.

 

Liberty St. Bridge

Mr. Stoltzfus reported there will be a meeting concerning the new bridge on Liberty St. on October 19, 2017 at 10:00am at the site.

 

No further business, Mr. Stewart made a motion, seconded by Mr. Kiko to adjourn and pay bills totally $18,635.08.  Approved.
