The Paris Township Board of Trustees is placing a two mil road levy on the November 3, 2026 ballot and would appreciate your support. This is a 5 year levy and would begin collecting in January of 2027. This levy would collect not more than $70 for each $100,000 of the county auditors market value. The Stark County Auditor has certified this levy will generate $258,597 annually. Paris Township over 52 miles of roadway to maintain, most of which is either chip/seal or light asphalt. Cost of chip/seal is currently over $21,000 per mile, which does not include prep time or materials.

Welcome to Paris Township

Paris Township’s population as of the 2020 census was 5743 residents, 3938 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township. Paris Township encompasses New Franklin, Robertsville, and parts of Minerva. Paris Township administrative office and garage are located at 14220 Freed St SE, Paris, OH 44669. Paris Township Government

Paris Township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term, beginning on the following January 1. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it. There is also an elected township fiscal officer, who serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election.

The board of trustees is responsible for maintaining township roads and rights of way, and also for providing fire and EMS service to residents through the Sandy Creek Joint Fire District. The trustees are also charged with taking care of the cemeteries within the township, and the sale of cemetery lots. The trustees also provide a trash dump site twice a month with a valid permit purchased from the township.
